If you are suffering from your ADSL Net getting disconnected in 5 - 10 minutes after connecting and then nothing works then this is the solution for you. Many people suffer from the problem. After a few minutes of their connecting to Internet, a weird Win32 Service error shows up and then you can neither disconnect Internet nor can you reconnect it. All you can do is just restart the machine and then go through this process all over again and again.

Microsoft did provide patches for the same later but by then the problem was resolved by the experts. Also those people who do not have fast Internet cannot use those patches. So is there a solution for it without downloading the patches and just tweaking some settings in Windows XP. Fortunately the answer is yes. There are just 2 changes that you need to make. They are described in detail below:

First of all comes system security. So when you start Registry Editor (method is shown below) take a backup of the Registry as this is one of the core components of your Windows Installation. Backing up registry would help you to restore the changes you will make and would save you from a lot of headache later on. To create a backup of registry, navigate to File and click on Export. This will create a backup of your registry which can be restored again.

Click on Start button in the taskbar and navigate to Run. Type "regedit" without quotes in it and press enter. Now on the left panel, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand it and navigate to SYSTEM. Then navigate to CurrentControlSet. In it expand NetBT. Navigate to Parameters. Now in the right panel locate TransportBindName. Just double click it and delete the default value which currently is Devices.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> NetBT --> Parameters --> TransportBindName

Now navigate again to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In it locate Softwares. Now go to Microsoft and expand it. Locate Ole in it. Now in the right panel just locate the value EnableDCOM. The default value in would be Y. Double click it and make the default value N. Now just close Registry Editor and restart the machine. Connect to Internet and voila the net now no longer gets disconnected.

You could also have changed the values of NetBIOS but generally changing the values of these two parameters would eliminate the problem for all. You would not be required to change those values.

Final Fantasy - Countdown to Crisis Core

The time is almost upon us to receive the latest installment in the 'compilation of Final Fantasy VII'; the PSP game Crisis Core. Amongst fans of Square Enix's world-renowned RPG franchise Final Fantasy, the seventh episode is arguably the most famous and well loved. Final Fantasy VII, released back in 1997, was the first Final Fantasy game to appear in 3D on any platform, and also the first to be readily available to western gamers. The game clocked up an average of 40+ hours game play, filled with love, laughter, tragedy and unforgettable characters. It is a testament to the game that even now, 11 years since first entering our lives, Final Fantasy VII is still going strong, with a string of sequel games, animated films and merchandise still hugely popular.

As mentioned, Final Fantasy VII is one of the few in the gaming series to have gone beyond a single game, birthing sequels in various media formats. Before Crisis is a mobile phone based game centering on The Turks, an organization featuring in the original game and who play a major part in the history of the Final Fantasy VII world. Dirge of Cerberus was a sequel game focusing on Vincent Valentine, a side character from the original. And now we have Crisis Core, the long awaited prequel game centering on Zack Fair, a character only witnessed through flashbacks in the first Final Fantasy VII.

I'm not here to review the game, as I haven't yet played it, but the hype is building and the reviews so far seem largely favorable. It would be easy to assume this game will rock the foundations of the gaming world simply for being a scion of the famous Final Fantasy VII, but that would be short-sighted. Square Enix learned this the hard way with the afore-mentioned Dirge of Cerberus game. On paper it sounded so good; Vincent Valentine, the dark, mysterious and downright awesome secret character from the original game getting his own spin-off title. The reality however, resulted in an infuriatingly repetitive and basic shooter, with our character running through uninspiring locales (the opportunity to bring back key locations from Final Fantasy VII was criminally underused) basically doing the same thing level in and level out. The story was involving, the cut-scenes were amazing, but the gameplay itself left much to be desired.

After the lukewarm reception to Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core was in danger of being viewed in the same light. However, Crisis Core being a prequel will speak to fans on a different level. Players will visit scenes and events hinted at in the original, experiencing the tragic story of Zack Fair first hand. Anyone having played the original will doubtless know the outcome of this game, and it promises to be a moving experience regardless of gameplay.

This all goes to represent the evolution of gaming on the whole. Video games are no longer solely about the immediate satisfaction through gameplay, rather they have branched into an intricate media in which to voice a compelling story. RPGs by definition are expected to contain a weaving and involving storyline, wherein the gameplay is a complement to the experience rather than governing it. The trick is to find the right balance; a dynamic story to follow is great, but if the gameplay lacks the player will feel cheated, plodding through hours of levels as a means to an end. Conversely brilliant gameplay can still be a curiously empty experience if there is no deeper involvement to merit your actions.

For all their hits and misses in the past, let's hope Square Enix find the right balance for Crisis Core. If ever a video game deserved such treatment, it's this one.

"Coffee shop talk" internet tv player a phrase Chinese use to describe gossip, and no wonder since the neighbourhood coffee shop Aztec Adsl Modem Router kopi tiam is where news, views and grouses are exchanged internet law a cup of coffee or a quick meal.

In a typical kopi tiam, the drinks stall is run by the owner who also sell such breakfast items as toast and butter, half-boiled eggs and small snacks. The other food comes from stallholders, often ethnically mixed to get variety, who lease space from the owner.

In a decent kopi tiam of old, the owner roasted and ground his own beans, and some developed quite a Linkdslcom for their brew. Chinese coffee is thick and strong; roasted maize and margarine are often added, along with a dollop of syrupy thick sweetened condensed milk. So strong were these that stories circulated of how opium, once legal and easily available, was added to boost the potency of caffeine. Now most kopi tiam owners depend on coffee factories for their supplies.

In the mornings, the kopi tiam fills up with people eating breakfast, be it buttered toasted sprinkled with white sugar or spread with kaya (egg and coconut jam), or a bowl of noodles washed down with kopi o (black coffee) or coffee with condensed milk.

In the late morning, the crowd thins out but there are always a few shift workers or senior citizens who linger over a cuppa for "coffee shop talk".

New Lawsuit Brings Clarity To Skypes IP Problem (Prognosis: Screwed)

When a group of investors pooled their resources a few weeks ago to put a bid in to buy Skype from eBay, I thought there was a good chance that Skype's legal woes were behind them. Apparently, I was wrong, and a new lawsuit makes it clear just how bad Streamyx Hotline situation is for Skype.Sure, Skype doesn't own its core P2P technology, and founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom were trying to rip that IP out of the service. But that's all old news from months ago. Surely those new investors wouldn't have committed to paying $1.9 billion for 65% of a company that didn't control its IP? At the time of the deal, people close to the transaction told me that the new investors had a much better relationship with Niklas and Janus than eBay, and the situation would soon Dish Satellite Internet worked out. Our best guess was the two would be given a piece of Skype, and possibly a board seat, and the litigation would be dropped.

Most likely you have a computerized billing and scheduling system in use, whether or not you use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at the moment. With more than just a single computer in use in your practice, it's more than likely that you're on some type of network. When multi-user, multi-task EMR systems are integrated into the practice, the complexities of capabilities and network designs become essential. Although many practices simply choose to hire an IT consultant or firm to handle these issues, this article will cover some of the most common network design concepts to consider.

Networking Basics: WAN, LAN, or MAN

Some EPM/EMR software might be incompatible with system software or network hardware. This must be determined before you purchase your system, and, if you think you'll be adding other users, it's often more economical to purchase licenses for multi-users rather than individual retail software packages. A Local Area Network (LAN) can connect computers and printers within a limited area such as an office. This LAN can link in with other LANs via wireless or network connectivity.

Unfortunately, some EPM / EMR applications may have compatibility issues between network and operating system software. This compatibility must be assured before going ahead with the purchase of an EMR package. Additionally, if you expect you will add new users, it's often more effective to buy a multi-user software license as opposed to individual consumer licenses at a retail outlet.

A wide area network (WAN) connects smaller LANs or Metro Area Networks (MANs). This can be done over a wider geographic area, as in a series of remote offices. These WANS are often used by large companies. The most widely-known WAN today is called the Internet. The Internet can permit access to a company intranet, where employees communicate with each other no matter where they are located. For an EPM / EMR system that runs between satellite offices, a stable high bandwidth connection is a must in order to keep the practice running consistently and smoothly.

Bandwidth and Topology

The network's bandwidth is the capacity of data that it can carry, usually expressed in bits per second, or bps. Connection speeds vary from 56 kilobits per second, to millions of bits per second. However, actual bandwidth speeds achieved may be limited by the hardware used, at times even the software used. In addition, the overall network speed can be greatly reduced as multiple users attempt to access information from the EMR system.

A fast connection means little if the network speed is slow due to bad planning or underpowered hardware. Network topology is also important. Topology is the physical shape of the network, as in a string of computers which minimize the amount of wiring between them. Still, if one part of this network goes down, it could take out the whole network. The best topology requires more wiring but is resilient to systemwide failure from a single weak point. However, the total amount of machines on this type of network is limited. Large networks use a mesh topology that offers redundancy and allows for better expandability.

Wires

In an average 'paperless' office setting, an exam room contains computers wired to the server, which runs EMR software. However, some physicians who are technically-savvy may like to enter info into a wireless device, carrying it between areas at the practice. The concept of wireless networking adds a new series of points to address.

Signal Strength - We've found that wireless access devices gather less-than-promised ranges when functioning in a typical office setting with many walls.

Bandwidth - Even if your LAN has good bandwidth rates, the speed of access can be limited by the speed of your wireless connection.

Security - Hackers can wreck your network if it isn't properly protected. Even a basic wireless access point must have built-in security which can be enabled easily.

Fat or Thin Clients - Will you use wireless laptops that run software directly on a wireless connection (fat), or will it run software virtually via a remote connection (thin)? Disconnects are simple fact for wireless networks; the thin client allows the software to continue to run in this case, allowing you to pick up where you were interrupted. A fat client solution what has its connection broken may cause a subsequent software crash.
