Toshiba shows off in-car facial recognition system

We've seen streamyx registration of systems that rely on facial recognition for an interface, but they've so far been a decidedly rarer occurrence when it comes to in-car systems. Toshiba looks set to streamyx mail password that, however, with it now showing off a new system that'll not only let you control the A/C or radio with the glance of your eye, but alert you if you happen to take your eyes off the road for too long. That's done with the aid of a camera mounted above the steering wheel that's used to identify and map out the driver's face, letting the car (or desktop PC in this demonstration) detect everything from head movement and eye direction to eyelid blinks, which Toshiba says could eventually be used to alert drowsy drivers. Unfortunately, Toshiba doesn't have any immediate plans to commercialize the technology, although it apparently busily working to make it more suited for embedded CPUs.

There streamyx 100 three main options when it comes to buying a console machine tmnet streamyx the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. Both the PS3 and 360 are just the same machine with more power and in the case of the PS3 a blue ray disk player.

The Nintendo Wii though in its latest incarnation took a radical change in direction with a greater melding of player with the machine.

This change was risky but paid off and the Wii streamyx riger become wildly popular.

The Wii is also cheaper than its competitors, smaller with slightly lower graphic power.

In a straight competition because the Wii is so different to the other two in Streamyx of how your now play with the controllers direct comparison even when playing identical games becomes harder. Take a game like Rock star's bully. The graphics on all three machines is fairly similar, but playing the game on the Wii gives a greater sense of satisfaction - why - because when you physically fight a character on the screen - you physically 'box' with the Wii controllers. This innate satisfaction is something the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 can't give you with just traditional pushing of buttons. Wii has saved a generation from RSI injuries from hitting buttons one too many times. The added bonus is burning calories while you play - a constant complaint from traditional consoles - that they were veg out machines created ever create obesity amongst the youth.

My prediction is that the PS3 and 360 next incarnations will have to have some sort of interactive controller.

The best console on the market is a question that will cause many debates and can depend not just on the machine but the games and add ons available for that machine - but the Wii certainly has people talking.
